Kanye West named Time Magazine’s most influential person for 2015
Kanye West tops Time Magazine's list of the 100 most influential people of 2015.

As CEO and entrepreneur Elon Musk writes in his profile of rapper, fashion designer and tastemaker, Kanye West for his naming as Time Magazine’s list of the 100 most influential person for 2015, Kanye West would be the first person to let the world know that he deserves to be on that list. His ego is legendary, he lives in an alternate reality – Kanye World. The man has compared himself to Picasso, Steve Jobs and said that one of the greatest pains of his life is that he will never get to see himself perform.

Yet there’s something quite magnificent – if a little galling – about his ego, his presence, the very essence that is Kanye West. As Elon Musk writes,

“Now that he’s a pop-culture juggernaut, he has the platform to achieve just that. He’s not afraid of being judged or ridiculed in the process. Kanye’s been playing the long game all along, and we’re only just beginning to see why.”

As for Kanye West, in a video interview published on Time’s website he was at peak Kanye, with lots of pearls of wisdom.

Such as this,

“Every time I break the internet it’s like this little drop of truth—every time I say something that’s extremely truthful, out loud, it literally breaks the Internet.”

Others in the list included MiNDFOOD March cover star Julianne Moore, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi (profiled by Barack Obama), ballerina Misty Copeland and Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
