International Day of Non-violence

International Day of Non-violence
The day commemorates Ghandi's non-violent philosophies.

Mahatma Gandhi, pioneer of the philosophy of non-violence, was born on October 2nd. Every year on this day, the United Nations encourage every person in the world to acknowledge this philosophy and spread peace.

A General Assembly resolution in 2007 established the initiative to “disseminate the message of non-violence, including through education and public awareness.” The resolution asserts “the universal relevance of the principle of non-violence” and the UN’s wish “to secure a culture of peace, tolerance, understanding and non-violence”.

Now could not be a more timely moment to think about the importance of non-violence.
