Take part in a 22-hour live ballet performance and inspire your own dance passion (and even motivate an exercise routine).

October 2 is World Ballet Day, and to celebrate this beautiful, yet technical dance form, Bolshoi Ballet, The Royal Ballet and The Australia Ballet will stream on Facebook a 22-hour continuous live ballet performance, including the following:

11am (AEST) The Australian Ballet
4pm (AEST) Bolshoi Ballet (Moscow)
9pm (AEST) The Royal Ballet (London)

In addition, there will be Facebook Live feeds from Paris Opera Ballet, Alvin Alley (NYC), Houston Ballet, English National Ballet and many, many more! Join the Facebook Event World Ballet Day 2018 to see the full schedule.

Ballet for all ages

Ballet is not only a beautiful art form by also a great form of exercise if you are looking to try something a bit different.

These four ballet moves: Plié, Elevé, Battement Tendu and Rond de Jambe will get you a full-body workout, including:

  • Abs and Arms: Roll-Ups With a Twist.
  • Outer Thighs: Floor Attitude Lifts.
  • Butt and Shoulders: Arabesque Lifts.
  • Thighs: Pliés in First Position. 
  • Calves: Relevés. 
  • Legs: Sissone Side. 
  • Butt: Lunge Dip.
