How to make the perfect Christmas wreath, according to The Queen’s florist
A Christmas wreath is synonymous with the yuletide season and the perfect way to embrace the festive spirit.

If you’re new to wreath-making, fear not, the Queen has shared a simple step-by-step guide, courtesy of the Royal Household florists.

We’ve broken down ‘The Royal Wreath Making Tutorial’ video to give you an easy guide to try this Christmas.

What you need

  • A copper wreath ring
  • Moss
  • Scissors
  • Reel wire
  • Long, thick, green florist wires
  • Foliage (pine, holly, ivy)
  • Dried fruit slice
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Dried pine cones and lotus heads
  • Christmas ribbon
  • String for hanging

How to make a wreath

Step 1: Prepare your materials. Attach the end of the wire to the copper wreath ring.

Step 2: Make 8 small ‘sausages’ out of the moss.

Step 3: Bind the moss ‘sausages’ to the frame using the wire

Step 4: Make a small selection of pine, ivy and berries. Place on your mossed wreath ring and bind to secure.

Step 5: Add your decorations, such as pine cones and cinnamon sticks.

Step 6: Use string or a thick wire to create a loop at the back to hang.
