A street artist called Bambi looks set to take the mantle from Banksy.

Until this year Bambi had spent her time dodging police in north London but now her art is highly desired by the rich and famous.

According to The Guardian when Kanye West presented his bride Kim Kardashian with a portrait, as a wedding gift, it propelled Bambi into the spotlight.

It followed a striking image of the late Amy Winehouse painted on a Camden Town doorway which was criticised, and painted over by the local council, at the time, but is now protected by perspex.

According to a website about the artist Bambi, her tag name, “is purportedly a shorter version of her father’s childhood nickname for her, Bambino”.

“Her art is a reflection of current events or icons of modern times, including secret agent, James Bond, played by Daniel Craig and soccer superstar, David Beckham. Some of her collectors include Angelina Jolie, her husband actor Brad Pitt and singers Rihanna and Adele. Bambi was even commissioned by model Kate Moss to paint a personal street art portrait of her, similar to Andy Warhol’s classic Marilyn.”

Bambi has never revealed her identity, but admitted having a prominent career in the music business as a singer.

Michael Sakhai, director of London’s Walton Fine Arts and the sole agent for Bambi originals told The Guardian that the artist was determined to keep her anonymity.

“She has become a real phenomenon and she has been talked about all over the world, but she wants to stay hidden,” he said.
