The highly-anticipated reunion of hit sitcom Friends may start filming very soon, according to series co-creator Marta Kauffman.

Kauffman told The Wrap on Wednesday that if all goes according to plan, August will be when filming of the reunion special will get underway.

“We are hoping to be able to shoot in August, if all is well and there is no early second wave and the studio is open,” she said.

The reunion was supposed to debut on HBO in May but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The show is set to see the return of original cast members Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc.

It will be filmed on Stage 34 of the Warner Bros Studio lot in Burbank – the same studio where the sitcom was shot.

The reunion special was officially announced in late February. It’s set to be an “untitled unscripted special” that will celebrate the series.
