Ellen Celebrates 60th Birthday With Michelle Obama
Ellen was surprised by several celebrities for her birthday, including Michelle Obama and Jennifer Aniston.

“I knew my 60th birthday show was gonna be fun, but I didn’t know it’d be this fun”, Ellen wrote on social media while posting a photo with Michelle Obama and Jennifer Aniston.

The popular talk show host turned 60 on January 26th, and to celebrate, her staff curated an impressive celebrity guest lineup for the show – all unbeknownst to Ellen.

The first guest to surprise Ellen was her longtime friend Michelle Obama, who opened up about life after leaving the White House. The former First Lady, 54, joked that Barack felt their new home in Washington was too small.  “He doesn’t have enough closet space [and] he’s got the smallest room for his office,” she said, before referring to their 16-year-old daughter. “Sasha actually killed in this house — she has this two-room suite, it’s all decked out. So he’s really hating on her.”

Michelle then revealed that the Obama family dogs were also adjusting. “The dogs, Bo and Sunny, don’t know what a doorbell is,” she laughed. “So the doorbell rings and they’re like, ‘Huh, I never heard that before.’ ”

Michelle added that family is what is really important to the Obama’s. “The thing I learned in those eight years is that home is where we make. We were in the White House for eight years but it wasn’t the house — it was us in it. Our values and our love for each other. We just moved that to another house. ”

The former First Lady also used her time on the show to talk about the current state of the United States. Using the fairness and logic she was known for, she said: “I would just encourage the viewers, the country, to do the things we do every day. To love each other, to take care of each other, to show empathy. And you can’t do that only when people make you feel good, or safe. We’ve got to do it all across the board. We have to be an open-hearted nation, and that’s who we are.”

“Forget what they’re saying in Washington, because that’s not necessarily who we are”, she added. “We know who we are.”

Jennifer Aniston is set to appear on the next episode of The Ellen Show.
