Prince William and Kate Middleton Meet the King and Queen of Sweden

The royal couple kicked off their Swedish tour with a game of hockey before visiting King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden.

Prince Harry and Kate Middleton began their official tour of Sweden with a game of bandy hockey in Vasaparken, Stockholm. After chatting with young players on the ice, the royal couple tried their hand at the popular local sport.

Next, the Duke and Duchess met King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden for lunch at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.

After the meal, the Duke and Duchess joined Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel for a visit to Stockholm’s Nobel Museum. They walked through the streets of Stockholm on their way to Stortorget, the city’s oldest public square.

Once at the museum, they met the curator who told them how the famous Nobel Laureate system works and discussed the science in Sweden.

The royal’s third item on the agenda involved a trip to the ArkDes, Sweden’s national centre for design and architecture. The couple attended an event celebrating the of Swedish design as well as architectural collaboration.

While there, they met some of Sweden’s up-and-coming homeware designers and learnt the history of the country’s most iconic, international furniture brands, such as IKEA.

Later that evening, the Duke and Duchess attended a black-tie dinner with the Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven and his wife Sulla Löfven. Pictured at the Residence of the British Ambassador, the royals looked stunning.

Kate wore a £1,945 floral silk gown by Canadian fashion designer Erdem, while Prince William chose a classic black suit and bow tie. The couple met guests including Swedish actors Stellan Skarsgård and Alicia Vikander.

The royal couple is conducting a four-day tour of Sweden and Norway. They are accompanied by an entourage of 13, plus security.
