Kate Middleton Advocates Sustainable Fashion
The Duchess of Cambridge has hosted a fashion reception at Buckingham Palace on behalf of the Queen.

The Duchess of Cambridge has stepped in on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II and hosted a reception alongside Sophie, Countess of Wessex, as part of the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange project. The project matches artisan manufacturers with fashion designers and craftspeople across the Commonwealth.

The reception, held at Buckingham Palace, featured an exhibition containing key styles from Canadian-based designer Lucian Matis and the Omba Arts Trust, which supports sustainable livelihoods in Namibia.

The Duchess chatted with designers, artisans and fashion critics while examing the garments, which had a focus on sustainability. Headdresses featured on mannequins were made from 6,000 bits of paper reclaimed from the film Fast Furious 6.

Princess Beatrice also attended the reception.

After the reception, the exhibition will be showcased to the public in London.
