A new era of Dairy Milk is going to hit the shelves and it’s good news for those who watch their sugar intake. The bar has 30% less sugar, replacing it with more fibre.

If you’re watching your weight but struggle to give your sweet tooth the cold shoulder, Cadbury has a treat for you. Their classic purple bar, Dairy Milk, is about to receive a sister that contains substantially less sugar.

The reduced-sugar bar took a team of scientists, nutritionists and chocolatiers, 20-strong, almost two years to perfect. And the sugar hasn’t been exchanged for artificial sweeteners, colours or preservatives, but has been swapped for more fibre in its place.

For those die-hard Dairy Milk fans who are committed to the original version, Cadbury is committed to you too. They’re going to be selling the bar alongside their old classic, not willing to risk the wrath of their loyal supporters. But just for the record, word on the street is that the diet version tastes just as good.

The food industry is under growing pressure to cut the sugar content of their products amid an obesity crisis that is concerning for many countries. No doubt Cadbury is trying to move with the times, while still keeping the grin on the faces of chocoholics everywhere.
