The Princess posed for pictures at Solliden Palace with husband Prince Daniel and children Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar for the occasion. Later in the evening, a concert was held in the Borgholm Castle ruins.
The traditional public celebrations that would accompany an heir to the throne’s birthday were scaled down this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Victoria’s birthday is usually marked with a large party with members of her extended family in attendance.
However, due to travel restrictions, some family members were unable to make the event, and Victoria’s elderly parents also chose not to attend.
The concert that is usually held at the event took place but only for a handful of guests this year, with Victoria’s immediate family seen keeping socially distant from her brother Prince Carl Philip and his wife Princess Sofia.
At the concert, the Princess awarded the Victoria Scholarship, a prize given each year on her birthday to a Swedish athlete.
This year the award went to 21-year-old pole vaulter Armand Duplantis.
A 21-gun salute was also fired to mark Princess Victoria’s birthday.
