Trooping the Colour has marked the official birthday of the British Sovereign for over 260 years. This birthday, thanks to some mischievous cousins, will certainly be one that will be remembered.

Everyone was out to celebrate the momentous occasion. Including the newlyweds, Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, who enjoyed the Trooping the Colour ceremony exactly three weeks after their wedding. The former actress wore a Carolina Herrera dress and a Philip Treacy hat, and the Prince looked as handsome as ever in his official Blues and Royals procession uniform.

Meghan took centre stage on the balcony of Buckingham Palace as she joined her new family to celebrate the occasion for the first time. She and Kate shared a chuckle as they greeted each other, clearly already great friends. The Queen was near their side as she enjoyed the traditional ceremony to mark her official birthday, attending without Prince Philip, who has retired from public duties, turning 97 tomorrow.

The show really started, however, when Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Savannah Phillips stepped onto the balcony.

A veteran of the balcony, 3-year-old Charlotte, knew just how to entertain the crowd, smiling and waving. George, who will be 5 in July, was just as excited as he watched the roaring fly-past by the Royal Air Force. Their cousin, 7-year-old Savannah Phillips, was on form, leading the troupe of children in their cheeky performance. The sassy seven-year-old helped point out the planes to Charlotte in her book and then showed her cheeky side by pretending to conduct the band performing the National Anthem before putting her hand over George’s mouth as he sang. George giggled as he lent on the balcony and watched the parade.

During the appearance Charlotte slipped and fell, but her Mum, Kate, swept her up and gave her a cuddle before placing her back down to enjoy the rest of the celebrations.
