Australia’s Best Walk

Australia’s Best Walk
Discover up close the spectacular scenery of this stunning Australian area.

Hiking is one of the best ways to discover a country’s most untouched areas and stunning outlooks. With a growing number of travellers searching for nature trails that offer more than the tourist experience, knowing where to start is difficult.

The Margaret River Cape to Cape is one of the Great Walks of Australia, and travellers seeking great views and a decent hike won’t be disappointed. The full walk is ten days, covering 135km of Western Australia’s ruggedly beautiful coast within the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park.

There are shorter options from 3-4 hours tracks to3-4 days, all of which provide the incredible views experienced on the full walk. Walkers will be privy to remarkable rocky headlands and red rock gorges, native bushland awash with startling blankets of colourful wildflowers in spring, rocky seaside crevices, striking limestone cliffs and swimming holes where the water is crystal clear and the waves crash dramatically over ancient rock formations.

There are plenty of wildlife viewing opportunities, too. Eagles soar overhead, skinks scurry across the path, and crabs peer up from under rocky ledges. Humpback, southern right and rare blue whales make an annual habit of frolicking along this coast from May until December as a part of an epic migration, and dolphins enjoy the waves alongside surfers.

If adventure travel is what you’re looking for, add Margaret River to your list.
