Anthony Bourdain, celebrated chef and television presenter, dies aged 61

CNN has confirmed US celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain has died at the age of 61.

 He was found in his hotel room in France, where he had been working on an upcoming episode of his program Parts Unknown.

‘His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storytell’ the Network said. ‘His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much’.

Bourdain had a wide network of friends and supporters. His profiled soared in 1999, when the New Yorker magazine published his article ‘Don’t Eat Before Reading This’, which he developed in the 2000 book ‘Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly’.

The chef, author and television presenter was born in New York City and raised in New Jersey. He was divorced twice and has a daughter from his second marriage.
