Actor Cameron Boyce, who is also known for his roles in the Disney Channel series Jessie and The Descendants movies, passed away in his sleep on Saturday after suffering a seizure his family had said in a statement.
“It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron,” the spokesperson said. “He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.”
“The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him. We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother,” the family said in a statement.
The 20-year-old star starred alongside Adam Sandler on the popular comedy movies Grown Ups (2010) and Grown Ups 2 (2013). Sandler had played the father of Boyce’s character, Kethie Feder, in the two films – the two are said to have grown close during this time.
“Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around,” Sandler tweeted on Sunday morning. “Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences.”

Sandler also shared a stunning black and white portrait of the young star. He went on to applaud Boyce’s philanthropy, which included launching a campaign with Thirst Project in 2018 to build two wells of clean water in Swaziland, which raised more than $27,000. In his tribute, Adam continued: ‘Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world.’
