A picture of style

Samsung’s clever new TV design, with Ambient Mode functionality, blends your screen with your wall for a seamless, interior-friendly look.

While the most popular TV size in New Zealand may be the 55”, and trending larger – trying to fit a larger panel size into a well-designed room can be a challenge. However, thanks to a clever new design by Samsung, you don’t have to sacrifice style for size when it comes to your viewing pleasure.

Picture quality is the most important element of any premium TV experience, however many Kiwi’s are increasingly concerned with how the set fits with our home styling. This is the word from Jens Anders, director of Samsung New Zealand’s Consumer Electronics division, who says that the latest design technology has allowed his company to complement individual home styling with a TV that has chameleon-like visual camouflage. “Samsung’s Ambient Mode helps blend your TV screen seamlessly into your existing home décor when the screen is not being watched,” says Anders.

The QLED TV’s Ambient Mode essentially mimics the wall it’s mounted on, and can be set up easily in seconds. Using your smartphone, you can match your TV screen with the tone of your walls, even replicating unique wall prints and patterns, using the Samsung Smart Things app. Ambient Mode also allows you to elevate your living room with decorative content, useful information such as the weather or news, and even your own photos. So, no need to sacrifice the existing look and feel of your home, even if you opt for a larger sized panel.

In addition to the TV screen blending seamlessly into your home, the new range also delivers on other innovative design features that promise to streamline your home entertainment set-up. The One Clear Connection – a super-thin, robust, Teflon-coated power/AV cable –  eliminates cord clutter by combining all inputs and power cable together. It also extends over 15 metres, for greater placement of the TV anywhere in your space. “Recognising that New Zealanders want technology that works around them unobtrusively, our new design enhancements mean that our audiences can now get closer to the action without distraction,” says Anders.

Enhanced picture quality and intuitive smart capabilities are all heroes in the new QLED range of TVs. Just in time for your winter TV binge-watching, the 2018 QLED range sets a new standard of picture quality for Samsung TVs, featuring over a billion shades of colour, as well as deep blacks in a range of lighting conditions, times of day, or content on the screen. Samsung’s inorganic Quantum Dot technology means the QLED display helps ensure colours remain pure at high brightness across both light and dark scenes.

QLED display is also resistant to damage from burn-in, so you can enjoy added peace of mind with a 10-year no screen burn warranty. “Rising consumer demand is driving our commitment to ultra-large screen televisions. We’ve responded with an array of technology that supports consumers’ TV passions – sports, movies and gaming. Samsung is built on a foundation of constant innovation and our 2018 lineup will redefine TV through leading technology,” says Anders.
