Last week thirteen people died when a suspected Islamist militant drove a van into crowds in Barcelona. Over 100 people were injured, many seriously, in what police suspect was one of multiple planned attacks.
Seven-year-old Julian Cadman, who was declared missing after the terrorist attack, has now been confirmed dead. The British-Australian boy was in Spain for a family wedding when the attack occurred. Last night his father flew from Sydney to a Barcelona morgue and confirmed his son’s tragic death. “Julian was a much loved and adored member of our family,” a statement from the Cadman family reads. “He was so energetic, funny and cheeky…We are so blessed to have had him in our lives and will remember his smiles and hold his memory dear to our hearts.”
Cadman’s mother Jumarie, was also seriously injured in the attack and is currently in hospital.
