Whether you love it or hate it, trends from past decades will always circle back to us. The 70s has graced us with many trends that have changed and evolved throughout the years.

Every wardrobe has their own pieces that have been inspired by different decades in their own way. Runways have not been exempt from this and have consistently been showing revamped versions of the old but gold.

The 20/21 Autumn/Winter season showcased an array of new renditions of the 70s trends we know and love.

This season’s fresh stylistic take on 70s style will have you singing Dancing Queen in a heartbeat.

Discover our favourite recent pieces of reworked style now.

THE BELL BOTTOM

This is a trend we’ve seen everywhere, but this season’s fresh take on it has us wanting more and more.

Bell bottoms were a staple in everyone’s wardrobe in the 70s. Designers Chloe and A.W.A.K.E. displayed how this trend can be worn today through an elevated approach to the shape of the whole pant.

Bell bottoms are a statement in itself and the exaggerated cut that these designers have taken heighten this.

The best way to wear this trend is to wear it with neutrals, or use a monochromatic look.

Sweaters compliment these pants very well and it is also something we have also adopted from the 70s.

YELLOW SHADES

Statement, yellow sunglasses were something we saw a lot of in the 70s. This trend has made its comeback this year on the streets as well as on the runway.

Marc Jacobs and London street style has embraced this trend with a modern twist and shows us how to put colour into our outfit without taking over it.

What some would call ‘la vie en rose’, is now ‘la vie en jaune’. Life through yellow tinted glasses makes everything sunny and bright.

Wash away the Winter woes with some gorgeous yellow sunglasses now.

THE SHEARLING COAT

Fluffy and cozy while still looking good is all we’re looking for this Winter. And the revival of the shearling coat is just what we need right now.

Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs set the bar on the runway during their Autumn/Winter season, with puffy lapels and furry trims that resemble silhouettes from the 70s.

The modern addition of matte and patent leather are what bring this trend into the 21st century and lets you elevate your winter armour.

Get your hands on this gorgeous style that will keep you warm now.

THE HEAD SCARF

Take a look at these scarves from the runway to see how to wear them for street style or a more classy look.

The head scarf has been overlooked for a few decades now, but it is the perfect way to work a new accessory into your wardrobe.

Whether you’re having a bad hair day or just want to add some print into your look, a good head scarf will bring a stunning silhouette to your outfit.

Tone it down with neutral, earthy hues, or add some colour with bold prints to make a statement. The options are endless with head scarves.

NEVER BORED OF CORD

Here’s our favourite ways to incorporate cord into your wardrobe in an easy and wearable way.

Corduroy is another one of those trends that keep making the rounds, but we can’t get enough. This season’s subtle additions of cord shows how it can be a staple in every wardrobe.

This trend adds a bit of texture into your outfit and the earthy yellow based neutral makes sure it works with anything.
