Local fashion label Zambesi opened New Zealand Fashion Week 2017 on Tuesday as the Mercedes-Benz Presents designer.
Two bespoke foil-coated racing suits designed specifically for the Mercedes-Benz partnership were the centrepiece of the show, which featured black lighting and futuristic music. “The garments evoke a powerful, ultramodern attitude synonymous with innovation and craftsmanship,” says Elisabeth Findlay, Zambesi Co-Founder and designer.
Creativity and quality – words synonymous with both Zambesi and Mercedes-Benz – were the underlying themes of the show. A myriad of colours, fabrics and patterns were showcased, from sheepskin and quilting to corduroy and knitwear. “Our muse for our collections always begin with the fabric,” says Liz Findlay. “Zambesi is all about innovative garments that are timeless, from the exterior to the inner-lining of every piece, our team is committed to keep up the quality.”
The collection will be available instores from February 2018.
