Wondering what to watch this weekend? You can now screen these fantastic Doc Edge films at home
Looking for some fascinating films to watch this weekend? The Doc Edge Virtual Festival brings world-class cinema into the home.

Now in its 17th year, the Doc Edge festival showcases cutting-edge global cinema and some of the best documentaries from around the globe.

The 2022 festival is running until 10 July, and along with in-person events, there are a host of fantastic virtual screenings available to watch from the comfort of your home.

Among the features available to watch online is One Of Ours, the tale of Josiah Wilson who was adopted as a baby in Haiti and raised in an Indigenous family in Canada. Years later Josiah is racially profiled at an Indigenous basketball tournament. He is refused the right to play a sport he loves and is exiled from his community.

Maisie is an intimate portrait of one of Britain’s oldest drag artists, who is still performing on stage even while battling Alzheimer’s, while the Art of Rebellion follows LA-based street artist and activist, Lydia Emily, recognised for her socially conscious, hand-painted murals that beautify neglected building.

If you’re not sure what to watch, Doc Edge has pulled together fantastic category viewing passes for a selection of film, centred around themes like ‘Being Oneself’, ‘True or False’ and ‘Thank Your for The Music’.

Head along to vc.docedge.nz to see the full list of films and immersive experiences.
