The royal pair touched down in Dublin for a three-day trip on Tuesday afternoon local time. They’ll visit Galway and counties Meath and Kildare after spending time in the capital.
William and Catherine’s visit began with a meeting with Irish president Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina, who joked about the Royal Family’s recent woes.
“Delighted to welcome you. You’ve had lots of exciting things happening in your family,” she said to the Duke and Duchess.
They were also greeted by the president’s adorable Bernese mountain dog Bród.

The Duke and Duchess then laid a wreath at Dublin’s Garden of Remembrance, which is dedicated to people who fought for Irish independence.
William and Kate wrapped up their first day in Ireland with a visit to the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin.
The Duchess continued with her appropriate green theme, wearing a shimmering emerald gown by The Vampire’s Wife.
