The chef and co-owner of Onslow is celebrating the fifth-anniversary of the Auckland restaurant in a fitting manner.
With celebratory champagne of course, but there’s a twist.
Emett is collaborating with Krug Champagne for a month-long dining series across October that showcases gastronomic artistry and the delicious flavours of one of the world’s most prestigious champagne houses.
At Onslow’s coveted table by the kitchen, the Krug Chef’s Table will welcome just six guests each evening. They will get to experience Emett take on a challenge Krug puts before a select number of top chefs each year.
Krug selects a hero single ingredient and challenges its ambassadors – of which Emett is one – around the world to reimagine and serve it in unique and unexpected ways.
For 2025, Krug has chosen the humble carrot as its hero single ingredient and during the dining series, guests will enjoy Emett’s take.

The idea is to show off each chef’s skills by transforming something simple into something extraordinary, showcasing its versatility, depth, and inherent beauty.
“Krug’s Single Ingredient programme pushes us to be creative and thoughtful, finding beauty and elegance in something simple, and sharing that journey with our guests in a way that feels joyful and true to Onslow,” explains Emett.
The former MasterChef judge has crafted a four-course menu that includes a delicate scampi crudo laced with edible flowers and a playful dessert that captures the sweetness of the carrot in surprising new form. Onslow’s much-loved fried chicken will also make an appearance.
Each course will be paired with a different Krug Champagne, including rare cuvées from the Maison’s cellars.
The luxury experience, available nightly through October, is available to book now at Onslow.
