Top tennis event the Brisbane International, presented by Suncorp, will be the hottest ticket in town this summer with Roger Federer, Serena Williams and Lleyton Hewitt  already signed on.

Plus, young tennis fans will be able to see their favourite Nickelodeon characters at the Queensland Tennis Centre on December 30, 2013 at the Brisbane International Suncorp Kids Tennis Day. SpongeBob Square Pants, Dora the Explorer and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will brush up their tennis skills, and fans can enjoy autograph signing sessions, MLC Tennis Hot Shots with the stars, face painting, fastest serve and roving entertainment.

Ballet in 2014 – August to September

One of the world’s leading ballet companies, the American Ballet Theatre (ABT), comes to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre for an exclusive season in 2014. The company has made more than 30 international tours across 42 countries, but this is the first time they will appear in Australia.

Exclusive to Brisbane and performing with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, the ABT will perform Swan Lake from August 28 to September 4, and Three Masterpieces from September 5 to 7, 2014.

Queensland Gallery of Modern Art – on now

California Design: Living in a Modern Way 1930-65 is currently on at the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, until February 9, 2014.

The first Barbie doll, classic Levi 501 jeans and furniture by Charles and Ray Eames are among the 250 works featured in this exhibition.
