The Undoing

Hollywood powerhouses Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant star in HBO’s new psychological drama. Based on the novel You Should Have Known by bestselling author Jean Hanff Korelitz, the series follows Kidman’s Grace Fraser as she deals with the public fallout from her husband’s part in a widespread disaster.

David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet

Sir David Attenborough’s highly-anticipated “witness statement” documentary is sure to be one of the movies to watch on Netflix in October.

The film follows 93-year-old Attenborough’s lifelong journey as a natural historian and shares his vision to save the planet.

Emily in Paris

Sex in the City meets The Devil Wears Prada is this new Netflix comedy drama. The brainchild of Sex in the City creator Darren Star, the show follow Lily Collins’ Emily as she moves to Paris to work for a big-shot marketing firm.

The Haunting of Bly Manor

A follow-up to the hugely-popular Haunting of Hill House, the supernatural drama follows a young governess as she arrives at a haunted manor and is loosely based of Henry James’ The Turn of the Screw.

The Queen’s Gambit

Taking place during the Cold War, The Queen’s Gambit tells the story of orphaned chess prodigy Beth Harmon in her pursuit to become the best chess player in the world, while battling problems with addiction.

The Trial of Chicago 7

Acclaimed filmmaker Aaron Sorkin brings the story of the trial of anti-Vietnam War protestors in this compelling legal drama film.

It features a stellar cast, including Sacha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Keaton.

On The Rocks

Sofia Coppola returns to the big screen with drama-comedy On The Rocks. Promising the sharp wit and writing Coppola is known for, the film stars Bill Murray and Rashida Jones as father and daughter as they set out to uncover her husband’s affair.

Taskmaster NZ

After worldwide success, British competition show Taskmaster is getting a Kiwi spin in Taskmaster NZ. The country’s brightest comedy stars will go head-to-head in a series of hilarious tasks to be crowned the winning ‘Taskmaster’.

Jeremy Wells will host the show, alongside comedian Paul Williams, with Madeleine Sami, Leigh Hart, Angella Dravid, Guy Williams and Brynley Stent taking on the contestant roles.

Release date: 21 October.
