Wedding day hair with JOICO at NZFW

Yesterday marked the New Zealand Weddings Magazine show at NZFW. One of the most popular fashion week events, the show featured designs by Anna Schimmel, Hera Couture, Jessica Bridal and Modes – among others. Lace, glitter and flared sleeves were the look of the day, with red lips leading the makeup scene.

When it comes to hair, there was a clear trend: glamorous, simple and soft. “It’s all about elegance, with a New Zealand element,” says NZ/AU JOICO Education Manager Duncan Richards. All hair was styled by JOICO’s expert team, who took a classic, refined approach. Messy knots and voluminous up-dos exemplify the relaxed spirit of New Zealanders while still looking sophisticated and striking, Richards explained.

Low, loose buns and gentle flowing curls dominated the show, creating a softening effect on the face. Accessories from sparkly hair clips and floral headpieces to complex veils and vintage netting complemented the styles.

When it comes to products for achieving the wedding hairstyles displayed at the show, JOICO’s Heat Set, Hair Shake and Flip Turn should be your go-to.
