Princess Eugenie Jack Brooksbank engagement

The second royal wedding of 2018 is fast approaching, with Princess Eugenie set to marry Jack Brooksbank on October 12.

Prince Andrew, father to Princess Eugenie, has attempted to broker a deal with BBC to cover his daughter’s big day to Jack Brooksbank. However, the corporation reportedly turned down the offer saying it would be a ratings flop, according to the Mail on Sunday. This, despite broadcasting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s earlier this year.

However, fans of the royal family need not despair, as another British TV network, ITV, has now announced that it plans to screen Eugenie’s wedding instead, according to The Express.

ITV’s on Sunday stepped in to broadcast the big day live from St George’s Chapel, although one anti-monarchy campaigner recently clashed on ITV with Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan over the cost of the wedding to taxpayers.

Princess Eugenie is said to have invited 850 guests to St George’s Chapel, which out-does Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s 600 invitees.

The bash will last two days and be organised by Peregrine Armstrong-Jones, the man behind Posh and Becks’s bling-tastic nuptials.

Royal commentator, Richard Fitzwilliams, previously has said that Princess Eugenie’s wedding will be less publicised and smaller than Prince Harry’s, “In total contrast, the wedding between Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank will be a charming affair but low key with little public interest and there will be considerably less fascination in the media.”

Currently, the taxpayer is set to cough up £2million to cover the cost of the royal wedding. Policing the event was initially set to cost around £750,000, but this is said to have increased.

In January of this year, Princess Eugenie announced her engagement to long-term boyfriend and wine merchant, Jack Brooksbank, 31. The Queen’s sixth granddaughter said the proposal was as a “complete surprise” and called it a “perfect moment”, BBC reports.
