On a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Sex and the City stars Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon shared an emotional tribute to their friend and co-star Willie Garson, who passed away in September this year at age 57.
Garson, who played Stanford Blatch in the original TV series and appears in a few episodes in the reboot, And Just Like That…, died of pancreatic cancer on 21 September 2021.
“Willie was a person who lightened any situation he was in and would have you in stitches,” says Nixon, recalling her friend and co-star on during her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
“Full of joy and so incredibly brilliant and smart,” adds Davis, revealing that he had kept his illness a secret in the beginning.
“We shot with him for a long time not knowing he was sick and things got bad enough that we were informed,” says Nixon.
Davis gets emotional as she continues to remember her friend. “It’s hard. I wish he was here.”
And Just Like That… airs on 9 December 2021 on HBO Max.
