Vic premier announces six-week lockdown for Melbourne
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has announced that the entire city of Melbourne will go into lockdown for six weeks.

It comes after Victoria recorded 191 new cases of coronavirus overnight, with the state seeing a worrying upward trend in infections in recent days.

Melbourne will have stage three restrictions come into effect at 11.59pm tomorrow night. Residents will only be allowed to leave their homes to go grocery shopping, for daily exercise, for school or work (if it can’t be done from home), or for care-giving reasons.
