Auckland restaurant Trivet is hosting two upcoming dining events that will have you firming up those plans with friends (or the mother that deserves spoiling), quick smart.

When was the last time you had a meal you had to tell everyone you know about? The kind you describe to friends that weren’t there, insisting you go again, this time with them. One that lingers in your subconscious, the mastery and flavours of each dish so brilliant, you wonder how soon you might return.

Auckland’s Trivet at JW Marriott Auckland is one of those restaurants where you know the meal will be memorable. But what’s really impressive is the way Chef Wallace Mua and his kitchen are always cooking up different ways to guarantee that kind of effusive response.

Two upcoming dining events at Trivet aim to ensure you’ll be oversharing afterwards.

The public are invited to book tickets to each event, designed to highlight the skill of the restaurant’s experienced team and its carefully chosen collaborators:

Trivet & Cloudy Bay Winemakers Dinner
Thursday 07 May

Trivet Head Chef Wallace Mua and Cloudy Bay winemaker Nikolai St George.

The hand-in-hand relationship between the country’s best food and wine is at the heart of this intimate evening.

Trivet Head Chef Wallace Mua and Cloudy Bay Winemaker Nikolai St George will combine their talents to present a delicious, multi-course menu with thoughtfully paired wines chosen by St George.

The evening will celebrate local and seasonal provenance matched with wines that expertly meet each dish’s profile and intensity.

With plenty of bold flavour and plating flair, Mua has an inimitable style that deftly blends his Polynesian roots, European training and experience in Aotearoa’s best kitchens. The results are creative but unfussy, and beautifully complement St George’s own approach at Cloudy Bay, where he similarly values simplicity.

It’s the perfect pairing, as the meal begins with a raw bar experience of freshly shucked Te Matuku oysters, sashimi and Coromandel mussels and wraps up with a delectable, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate dessert, with all other details to be revealed on the night.

Guests will gain a deeper appreciation for each Cloudy Bay drop, from Pelorus to Te Wahi Pinot Noir, thanks to accompanying insight from St George.

The Trivet & Cloudy Bay Winemakers Dinner, $175 per person, is open for bookings now.
