Tom Cruise has officially added "world record holder" to his long list of accomplishments — this time for an extraordinary feat in the skies.

The Hollywood icon now holds the Guinness World Record for the “most burning parachute jumps by an individual,” completing an astonishing 16 fiery descents while filming Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, the eighth installment in the blockbuster franchise.

“Tom doesn’t just play action heroes – he is an action hero,” said Craig Glenday, Editor-in-Chief of Guinness World Records, in a statement on Thursday. “His relentless commitment to authenticity and pushing the limits of what’s possible for a leading man is a huge part of his enduring success.”

Glenday called it “an honour to recognize his utter fearlessness” with this latest title.

In a behind-the-scenes video shared by Paramount Pictures, Cruise is seen meticulously planning the high-risk sequence with his stunt team. “If this is twisted while it’s burning, I am going to be spinning and burnt,” he says candidly, acknowledging the danger. Moments later, with signature confidence, he adds: “We don’t take risks… obviously,” flashing a knowing smile.

The clip features all 16 skydives in quick succession, set against the iconic Mission: Impossible theme, showcasing Cruise leaping from a helicopter with his parachute engulfed in flames.

This latest record-breaking stunt adds to Cruise’s long history of performing his own jaw-dropping action sequences. From scaling the Burj Khalifa to clinging to the side of an airplane, and even leading a performance tied to the Olympic Games last summer, the actor continues to redefine what it means to be an action star.

With The Final Reckoning on the horizon, one thing is certain: Tom Cruise isn’t just making movies — he’s making history.
