The four Australians who went missing at sea off the Indonesian coast have been located.

Steph Weisse, Will Teagle, and Jordan Short, who had been reported missing following their boat’s encounter with adverse weather conditions on Sunday evening, have been confirmed alive by a family member.

Elliot Foote has now also been rescued.

Teagle’s sister, Amy, said a group of 12 were on two wooden longboats heading from Nias island, about 120 kilometres from the North Sumatra coast, to the Banyak Islands, in Aceh.

Nias and the Banyak Islands are more than 50 kilometres apart at the closest point.

The group were in Indonesia to celebrate Foote’s 30th birthday.

Local media reported that there were three Indonesian crew on board.
