Three Beauty Innovations to try Right Now

Our style and beauty editor, Nicole Saunders, rounds up three of the best new beauty innovations to right now.

New Dimensions

Finding a mascara brush that dispenses just the perfect amount of mascara to enhance lash length can be tricky. Fortunately, Chanel has turned to the world of 3D-printing to find the solution and banish clumpy lashes once and for all. Beauty world first, Le Volume Revolution ($65), features a 3D-printed mascara brush which has micro-cavities printed in the brush that is able to absorb mascara. The innovation not only means the ideal amount of mascara is applied to lashes, but you don’t have to re-dip your brush between applications. Clumpy mascara will well and truly be a thing of the past as each bristle has been printed so precisely in a millimetre scale to volumise and define lashes.

At Long Last

Anyone who has ever wanted long, healthy hair knows that it’s not always easy getting tresses to grow. Split ends and unwanted breakage get in the way and often it feels like your hair simply isn’t growing. Enter one of the most cutting-edge beauty innovations of the year: the Kerastase Extentioniste range – there’s an in-salon component ($35) and take-home care system (from $49). Harnessing a powerful fusion of creatine and ceramide, Extentioniste strengthens hair from the inside and from roots to ends to enhance overall hair health. The result is stronger, longer hair with less split ends and breakage.

Peel Power

Skincare innovator Dermalogica is proving that you can get serious results in the comfort of your own home with new Rapid Reveal Peel ($159). Designed to combat dullness and fine lines that appear as skin starts to age, the at-home peel, which consists of 10 individually package peels and a travel bag, restores radiance and youthfulness to the skin. Phytoactive alpha hydroxy acids slough away dead skin cells, fermented plant enzymes enhance skin tone and Australian caviar lime extract smoothes and brightens skin. After just one application skin appears healthier and more luminous.
