Thousands of meals delivered to Kiwi frontline workers to say thank you
Fisher Funds and JUK have teamed up to deliver meals to NZ's frontline healthcare workers.

Kiwisaver provider Fisher Funds has teamed up with Jess’s Underground Kitchen (JUK) to donate and deliver frozen food packages to hospital care staff who have been working on the frontline amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

While many supermarkets are offering special services to medical staff working on the frontline, many shift workers are still finding it difficult to get to the supermarket or secure an online delivery spot. With this in mind, Fisher Funds Chief Investment Officer Frank Jasper says the company wanted to do something to say thank you to those people who are doing a tremendous job.

“We know it’s hard for nurses, health care assistants and ward clerks to juggle shift work with the lockdown restrictions and getting a nutritious meal so we’re making a small gesture to ease that pressure. By working with JUK, a small but formidable local business, we’re able to deliver food right to their door,” Jasper says.

The packages will be delivered to the homes of nurses, health care assistants, orderlies, cleaners and ward clerks across the North Island to say thank you for their hard work as New Zealand comes into its third week of alert level 4 lockdown.

JUK founder Jess Daniel says the issue is one that is close to her hear. “Everyone knows a brave someone at the coalface and our team is no different. I have friends, family members and customers who have been on the frontline from the very beginning of the crisis,” says Daniell.

The first 1000 hospital care staff to register will receive a care package of three ready-to-heat JUK meals, delivered by Freightways.

“This is one small gesture from us that will hopefully help lighten the load for a thousand people during this tough time. We’ve seen a few companies doing their bit to help in this crisis and we encourage more to do the same,” Jasper says.

If you are an eligible health worker, click here to apply for the home delivery food packages. You will need to confirm your role and place of work to redeem, and the offer is open to the first 1000 eligible applications. Due to delivery limitations, bundles are restricted to the North Island.
