Tripadvisor recently revealed the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India, as the best hotel in the world.
In looking at the incredible images of the breathtaking space it is easy to see how this hotel received top accolades.
The hotel is the crown of Jodhpur, the Indian city in Rajasthan otherwise known for its picturesque chalky-blue architecture.
Umaid Bhawan Palace is the family home of the maharaja of Jodhpur and his relatives. Rarely are the public able to stay in such proximity to royalty let alone enjoy the luxuries of the royal lifestyle, but within the art-deco inspired accommodation guests are invited to partake in the world of royalty.
The 347 room palace was built to provide employment to the people of Jodhpur and surrounding cities of Rajasthan during a time when the area was hit by extraordinary famine and drought.
The hotel has 64 bedrooms and suites – including a lavish option which comes with an actual spa room. The average price of a room is around $730 so it’s definitely one to add to the bucket list.
