The boutique wine spot offers a considered curation of bottles to help you expand your beverage horizons.

Queens Rooftop is one of Auckland’s buzziest spots to share dinner and drinks with friends.

The bar and restaurant is the perfect place to impress your pals or out-of-towners, not only for its spectacular panoramic views but it fresh and flavourful dishes, zingy cocktails and perpetual good vibes.

Located on the 21st floor of the waterfront’s Commercial Bay shopping precinct, the way you get in has also become something of a talking point.

You enter though a wine shop off of Te Komititanga Square outside Commercial Bay, the cosy and welcoming boutique space lined with timber shelves displaying bottles and bottles of the best wine and spirits from Aotearoa and beyond.

What some people might not realise while standing waiting for the elevator, is that each bottle has been thoughtfully curated for an inspiring selection to delight the palette.

Find your favourites or discover something surprising and new, thanks to the thoughtful advice of manager and Wineshop buyer John Robertson. You can shop on the spot and even enjoy a glass in the the store’s tucked away leaners known as ‘the cave’.

Robertson curates the range; his experience across New Zealand, London and Melbourne informs a refreshing unpretentious approach to wine.

With a background in both hospitality and buying, John focuses on helping people find the right bottle for the moment, rather than focusing on the label. The offering spans boutique local and international wines, craft beer, cider, non-alcoholic options and merchandise, all chosen with the same quality and relaxed approachability the rooftop is known for.

With a close relationship to its suppliers, Queens Wineshop regularly hosts tastings from recognisable and lesser-known brands.

And while you might not always be able ready to buy a bottle when you’re on the way to lunch or dinner, now, you can shop the entire selection online.

The webstore is easy to navigate, divided into categories such as bubbles, reds, whites, spirits and even a selection of perfectly casual and accessible ‘School Night Wines.’

The online store is now open at queensrooftop.co.nz.
