A moment for scarves, but not as you know them. The season’s warming must-have has had a mini makeover.

The Baader-Meinhof phenomenon can be an influential force when you’re pondering a new style trend. That’s when once you notice something for the first time, your brain suddenly starts spotting it everywhere.

Such is the case with autumn’s timeliest micro-trend. Seemingly out of nowhere, everyone is adopting triangle scarves.

While tying a silk version around your waist or cowboy-style at the neck is undeniably popular, the perfect evolution as the weather cools is the move to a warmer knitted version.

Taking a step further into luxury territory are the abundance of cloud-light, petal-smooth cashmere versions in a rainbow of elegant colours.

You’re not just imagining its sudden emergence, brands from Jacquemus to The Row, and Miu Miu and knit-specialist brands really are all embracing the look.

We love that the smaller knit shapes do away with the bulk of long loops of scarf. The delicate scraps of incredibly touchable fabric are the antithesis of massive blanket versions such as Acne’s hit mohair and alpaca wrap.

Shopping for them is slightly tricky, as they are all called something different. A foulard, a neckerchief, a woolen bandana – whatever you’re typing in, just keep searching. Or take inspiration from the best we’ve found, shared with you here.

Their shape too, might vary slightly but will only provide different options for accessorising. The beauty is in their versatility.

We’re following the lead of chic European women knotting at the neck or wrapping over them their hair and sunglasses, paired with a trench coat and ballet flats. What a wonderful way to go incognito, and keep warm while you’re at it.

Have fun wrapping up.
