While theatre shows are put on hold amid COVID-19, one boundary-pushing company is bringing an immersive theatre experience into New Zealand homes.
Innovative UK company Darkfield are launching their acclaimed immersive radio show, DOUBLE this September.
Described by critics as “unsettling audio that turns your home into a sci-fi dystopia”, the one-of-a-kind show sees participants sitting at the kitchen table with headphones on, tuning into the chilling audio experience.
There is only one rule in the show: everyone has to be who they say they are.
Fans of dystopian thrillers like Black Mirror and Orphan Black will get a kick out of this interactive event that uses 360-degree binaural sound to skew the audience’s sense of reality and create an immersive atmosphere like no other.
The company has received international acclaim for their radio projects, with DOUBLE was first-ever audio-only experience part of the Venice International Film Festival selection.
DOUBLE opens Tuesday 1 September. Check out the trailer here and visit darkfield.nz for tickets.
