The winners at the world’s best gin awards
The winners of the International Wine and Spirits Competition have been announced - with three Kiwi distilleries taking home gold prizes.

Martinborough-made Lighthouse Gin, Scapegrace Gin and Hasting Distillers’ Albertine Gin all took home gold at the 2020 International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC).

The prestigious event features the best winemakers and distilleries in the world competing for gold, silver and bronze awards.

Lighthouse Gin distiller Rachel Hall says it was “mindblowing” to win the gold prize. “This win is a huge achievement and one we are all incredibly proud of. It
demonstrates all the hard work everyone has put into the gin over the years,” she said.

The Aussie’s also took home a number of awards in the gin category, with a total of nine Australian gins awarded the gold prize.
