It all kicks off on February 3, with two spectacular events: 7km and 10km fun runs along Manly’s stunning coastline. Both of The Sydney Morning Herald Sun Run events start at Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club and finish beside the iconic Manly Lifesaving Club on Manly Beach, with runners of all levels challenging themselves along the picturesque Northern Beaches courses. This year will also see the introduction of a brand new hybrid event, The Sydney Morning HeraldAquathlon, designed to bring even more fun to the weekend’s festivities. The Sydney Morning Herald Aquathlon will give participants the chance to challenge themselves with the Run, Swim, Run course beginning in Dee Why with a 2km run followed by a 500m swim at North Curl Curl before finishing with a 6km run to South Steyne, Manly.

The fun doesn’t stop there! Now in its 35th year Manly’s refreshing ocean waters will host Sydney’s most historic and famous swim event, The Sydney Morning Herald Cole Classic on February 4 at beautiful Shelly Beach. Entrants can participate in the 1km, 2km and 5km events, finishing the swim in front of Manly Lifesaving Club. The 1km race is the perfect introduction for anyone looking to dip their toe into open water swimming.
