If you know your skincare ingredients, you’ll know why skincare enthusiasts are heralding the arrival of Singapore-based brand Allies of Skin at MECCA.
Known for loading potent actives into every product, including basics like cleanser, the buzz is on the results each and every item is said to deliver.
The science-led, supercharged formula-approach was created by founder Nicolas Travis, who established the brand in 2016 after completing a degree in biomedical and pharmaceutical science as well as a master’s in international business.
Travis conceived the brand after experimenting with his own skin through trying a range of products and brands with no success, concluding that the only way to achieve results was to create the formulas himself. The creator insisted on multifunctional products that support skin health in as few steps as possible and suit all skin types. Key ingredients include peptides, vitamin c and antioxidants.
“I’ve spent the last decade developing and iterating on formulas, combining, and experimenting with new active ingredients, and finding the right balance and amount of each one,” says Travis.

While skinTok and skincare nerds noticed, creating shared hype around the brand as it began to extend its reach around the world, celebrities did too.
Kaia Gerber, Henry Golding, Hailey Bieber and Behati Prinsloo all swear by the brands formulations, especially the bestselling Peptides & Antioxidants Firming Daily Treatment which is on high rotation in Hailey Bieber’s skincare ritual.
Travis recently shared with MECCA’s In-Tray how Gerber became a dedicated proponent of Allies of Skin.
“Everything I use is Allies of Skin; I don’t use anything else,” Gerber told Refinery 29 in 2022. “I get the products for free,” she admits, “but they have literally changed my skin.”
According to Travis, his friend, makeup artist Nikki Deroest, shared Allies of Skin with her friend, celebrity fitness trainer Kirsty Godso, who happens to have Kaia Gerber as a client.
“Kaia was breaking out a lot from her busy work schedule, and Nikki and Kirsty offered to help, explained Travis.
“We created a customised routine for Kaia, and she stopped breaking out and said that she kept seeing results that got better and better. And the rest is history!”
“I was so grateful for that moment because it demonstrated that our products deliver results you can see and feel,” Travis says. “It brought us a lot of new customers who also have similar skin issues. You can be a supermodel with incredible genetics, but you can still breakout. We are all human.”
