Before I met you
My love was merely the form
Of things beautiful;
The fancy of a moment,
The breath
Of an appealing life.
When the waves
It would crash –
And in its place
The sun, and sand.
When the sun
My love would set –
And in its place
The night,
And her moonlight.

When I came to know you
My love took on the shape
Of the most beautiful beast on earth;
The power of life –
A heart
Beating.
A beast I cannot resist,
In my lust
Devouring me
Because I cannot resist you;
A love I do insist,
In my longing
Is giving birth to me –
Because I cannot wait
To see you.

I resist no more
I want you –
The one who revealed
That I was blind before,
For now I have seen
One gorgeous thing,
And felt one desire, true.
The shape of my love
Is a beautiful beast
Yearning for itself,
And for me
To love you.
