As people filled the streets of central London to pay their respects to the ware dead, members of the Royal family gathered at the Centopath.

This year marks 100 years since the first two-minute silence was observed on November 11 1919.

Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, was joined by Sophie, Duchess of Wessex and Princess Anne’s husband, Tim Laurence on another balcony.

Kate Middleton wore a special ‘Codebreakers’ poppy brooch, to pay tribute to her grandmother, Valerie Glassborow, who worked at Bletchley Park. Middleton wore an all-black ensemble to the ceremony, including a bespoke Alexander McQueen tailored military-inspired coat dress, with a beautiful fascinator and the Queen’s pearl and diamond drop earrings. Meghan Markle kept it simple in a black Stelle McCartney coat with a wide-brimmed hat, and no jewellery.
