You can now drink like a true royal - with the Queen's new launch of her very own gin label.

The Royal Family is stepping into the competitive world of spirits, with the release of their very own gin.

According to Tatler, the spirit has the ultimate royal stamp – made from flowers grown in the Queen’s own garden at Buckingham Palace.

According to a spokesperson for the Royal Collection, the spirit is “infused with citrus and herbal notes derived from 12 botanicals, several of which are from the Buckingham Palace garden.”

These include notes of lemon verbana, hawthorn berries, bay leaves and mulberry leaves.

Foreign dignitaries and those lucky enough to join the royals at Buckingham Palace aren’t the only ones able to enjoy royal gin. It will be available to purchase by the public and sold at the Royal Collection gift shops.

The small-batch dry gin will set you back about £40 for a 700ml bottle.

This isn’t the first time Her Majesty has revealed a love for the spirit. The Queen’s cousin, Margaret Rhodes, says Queen Elizabeth II “takes a gin and dubonnet before lunch, with a slice of lemon and a lot of ice.”

She’s also been known to advise staff to clean her jewellery with gin before her royal engagements.

Actor Ryan Reynolds, who owns his own gin label, Aviation Gin, joked on Instagram about his new gin rival.

The actor shared a picture of his receipt for “pre-order” of the gin, addressed to Sir Paul McCartney at “Downton Abbey Rd”.
