New fashion drops that live up to our all-black reputation.

This week we’re thinking about all the new season fashion collections landing everywhere, but also, how to level up the items we’re already wearing.

Combining the two? New arrivals are inviting us to add luxurious texture in feather and fringe, making simple wardrobe staples feel evening-appropriate. Wearing evening-appropriate detailing and shapes casually during the day, also feels fresh.

We’re spoiled for design choice Down Under so we’re thrilled to see such incredible collections landing that feel on a par, or even leading, the style and trends making waves internationally.

Here’s what’s new and catching our eye this week:

Harris Tapper feather jacket

Move over beading and embroidery, feathers have claimed the title of haute fabric embellishment of the season. Chanel led the way and plenty, such as Balenciaga, have been following suit, particularly amongst the couture shows. It shows the skill and quality required to ensure feathers feel sophisticated, rather than costume-like. Dua Lipa’s recent wedding gown featured an incredible 25,000 of the fluttering details.

At home, Harris Tapper is cornering the market on elegant ease, quickly picking up an international following for its modern tailoring with luxury accents. This feather jacket from the label’s new collection will no doubt be a quick sell-out, given its ability to look extravagant and insouciant in one go.

Prada crochet flats

Yes, it’s far too cold and wet to wear these, but we’re putting these new arrivals here simply to signal the importance of crochet coming into the warmer weather. It’s been everywhere for the northern summer and looks set to continue over the coming months. This pair comes in black, ivory or a sandy colour and would look so sweet with a full-skirted sun-dress on a hot summer’s day. Hard to imagine now, but here before you know it.

Meadowlark lock jewellery

Padlocks have become a kind of shorthand for undying devotion, just think of all that metal on the Pont des Arts in Paris. With this romantic notion in mind – and just a pinch of padlocks’ punky past – Meadowlark has released a desirable new jewellery collection of earrings and pendants featuring different sized locks.

Camilla & Marc pants

The undisputed champion of a well-rounded wardrobe? A great pair of black pants. Camilla & Marc’s new collection is full of textural delights and warm layers, but these Helix pants capture versatility and refined luxury.

The removable asymmetric fringed belt can be worn any way you like it, including changing the look of plenty of other pieces in your wardrobe. The collection also features a faux fur stole (seen in image at top) we’re not-so-secretly coveting, ideal for adding some much-needed warmth, .

Sylvester jacket

To round out this week’s unplanned but very monochromatic edit, we present the charming Corsage Jacket from Sylvester. Beautifully tailored to look sharp, the additional pinwheel corsage provides that all-desirable whimsy everyone seems to be seeking right now.
