Welcome to the in-between season where you’re never quite sure what to wear. Too hot, or not warm enough? Toes out, or no time for a pedicure yet? Are we doing leather and denim still, or moving to crisp cotton and florals?
The answers to those questions are largely personal and dictated by the what the weather is doing where you live, but there’s plenty of inspiration landing in stores for the new season.
Here are the looks grabbing our attention right now:
Camilla & Marc Carmine Dress
We’ve long been fans of Camilla & Marc’s tailoring and coats for winter, but the Australian brand shines in summer too. Proof comes in the dress recently chosen by Michelle Obama from the brand’s Pre-Fall 26 collection, available now. The former US first lady wore this Carmine Scoop Back Dress for an appearance at the Martha’s Vineyard Book Festival, discussing her new book The Look. The weighty quality of the woven fabric beautifully holds the hem’s unique shape and it’s a softer take on red which is proving to remain popular going into the new season.
Gregory Savile top and Jamari skirt

Speaking of fresh colour, crisp pastel pink cotton pieces will be the easiest wardrobe choice to make when the weather gets hotter. Gregory has just dropped its spring selection and its understated separates in the delectable ‘Mallow’ colourway perfectly fit the bill. The button-up shirt is a classic, but when put together the V-neck top and gathered skirt bring a modern polish and plenty of versatility, dressed up with jewellery and heels or down for relaxed weekend comfort.
Michael Hill cocktail rings
It’s not just clothing that is captivated by colour right now. Cocktail rings showcasing the vibrant hues of precious and semi-precious gemstones are turning heads once again, as we seek out feel-good jewels chosen purely for fun and the personal delight they bring. Michael Hill is tapping into this mood with a collection of new colourful designs. There are bold statement-making rings with those coloured stones but also a selection of tiny charms inspired by real cocktails, from a cute citrus-bright Aperol Spritz design to a pretty-in-pink Strawberry Daiquiri and a playful Martini.
Twenty-Seven Names Latchkey Children blouse
Our choice for spring florals that aren’t too OTT, Twenty-Seven Names’ new navy daisy-print silk pieces are easy to fall in love with. Layered frills offer a desirable sense of movement and lightness in plenty of new collections. Here, the frill adds a touch of playful interest and looks great layered with a blazer or jacket in the office or for extra warmth. The print also comes as a silk scarf, offering a plethora of accessorising opportunities.
La Tribe Boat shoes
This year there’s been an ongoing conversation about the shoes to wear with jeans that are comfortable and stylish without resorting to sneakers. On the designer front Saint Laurent’s supple loafers (including the slip-on mule version) are getting plenty of attention, but locally, we were thrilled to see La Tribe’s soft boat shoe return in two colours. It’s the shoe to wear with everything this season.
Oroton top with fringed scarf
In case you missed the memo, textural details with movement are having a major fashion moment, with fringing and feathers leading the charge. We’ve see a handful of designs combining garments with removable fringed scarfs (Camilla & Marc also does a great version) but this Oroton one is a desirable find with lots of ways to wear.
