If you keep up with luxury resale trends, you’ll know there’s one type of bag that vintage lovers are always on the hunt for.
That is, designer bags made in denim, generally from the early 200s. These styles have experienced a massive resurgence, blending Y2K nostalgia with modern, everyday luxury.
Top of the list? Arguably its Louis Vuitton’s monogram denim with vintage styles from the early 2000s designed by Marc Jacobs. The in-demand denim styles include the original Neo Speedy, Baggy and the Pochette in the mid-blue and baby pink denim styles.
Other denim styles of the era turning up in vintage boutiques and resale sites are original pieces by Chanel, Dior, Fendi, Gucci and more.
This season, a number of those brands more have leant in to the throwback hype, releasing new collections of denim handbags, with some reissuing original styles.
Current denim bags, while evoking nostalgia, are often more understated, focusing on craftsmanship, eco-friendly materials, and refined designs rather than heavy embellishment.
Notable pieces include a significant new collection from Louis Vuitton with many of those previously popular styles in three colourways – classic blue, fuchsia pink, and khaki green.
Chanel too, has this season released denim versions of its Chanel 25, Mini Classic and Mxi Flap bags. The Coach Tabby in denim has also been a popular choice for style influencers globally.
