Louis Vuitton X Opens in Beverly Hills

90210 bound? Then you’ll want to head straight to North Rodeo Drive as the world’s most famous zip code has become the home to Louis Vuitton X – an immersive exhibition that takes a journey through the maison’s 160-year history of creative exchanges and artistic collaborations.

Over 180 items from the Louis Vuitton archive will be on display across two floors of the iconic 468 North Rodeo Drive building in Beverly Hills. The Louis Vuitton X exhibition brings together a remarkable collection of early twentieth-century special-order trunks; beautiful art deco perfume bottles and window displays commissioned and designed by Louis Vuitton’s grandson, Gaston-Louis; iconic Monogram bags reworked by renowned artists and designers, such as Karl Lagerfeld, Rei Kawakubo, Cindy Sherman and Frank Gehry; and original collaborations and commissions by artists including Yayoi Kusama, Richard Prince and Zaha Hadid. The exhibition will feature nine rooms including Lights, Camera Action! Louis Vuitton on the Red Carpet; Louis Vuitton As Seen By and Art Meets Fashion. 

The exhibition also marks the world premiere of the highly sought-after Artycapucines collections, which sees Louis Vuitton’s coveted Capucines bag reinterpreted by six leading contemporary artists: Sam Falls, Urs Fischer, Nicholas Hlobo, Alex Israel, Tschabalala Self and Jonas Wood. Named after the street on which Louis Vuitton opened his first store, all artists have transformed the Capucines bag by combining their skills and imagination with the unparalleled artisanal savoir-faire of Louis Vuitton’s ateliers to create limited-edition original works.

To celebrate the opening of Louis Vuitton X the maison held an exclusive event. Miranda Kerr, Alicia Vikander, Jennifer Connelly, Jaden Smith, Millie Bobby Brown and Orlando Bloom were just a few of the famous faces that attended the opening.
