The beauty look at Tory Burch showcased this must-try new foundation

The beauty look at Tory Burch showcased this must-try new foundation

New York Fashion Week has always been an incubator for inventive and chic style, whether it be the clothes heading down the runways or the beauty looks that accompany them.

While things have been a little quiet on the fashion week front over the past couple of years the shows in New York this week are returning some much desired spark – and eye candy – for fashion and beauty lovers.

There have been some striking and creative eye makeup looks at the shows of LaQuan Smith, Christian Siriano and Altuzarra, yet they have all been paired with understated yet luminous, fresh-looking skin.

Elsewhere a bold lip appeared, but likewise, it was worn with barely any other makeup, just minimalist coverage on plumped-up, dewy skin.

At Tory Burch those clean, refined complexions were the star of a makeup look created by respected British makeup artist Diane Kendal using NARS Cosmetics.

Though the expert carried out extensive skin prep on each model, including the NARS  hydrating Light Reflecting Treatment Lotion and Moisturiser, there was one key makeup product that snatched the attention.

NARS Light Reflecting Moisturiser; NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl; NARS Light Reflecting Foundation.

NARS’ brand new Light Reflecting Foundation was used to make up the skin of each model, showing off the lush, glowy finish and imperfection-blurring properties and medium, buildable coverage of the new arrival, due to land at Mecca stores here on February 22.

“For Tory, we wanted to highlight healthy skin, and we achieved that ‘lit from within look’ using NARS’ Light Reflecting Foundation says  Kendal. “Complementing the glowy skin, for some of the beauty looks, is a strong matte lip, which gives the perfect play on textures.”

According to the brand, Light Reflecting Foundation is made up of 70 percent skin-care ingredients, as opposed to simply pigments and ingredients that help blend the colour.  This includes biomimetic oat for skin’s clarity, Japanese Lilyturf plant for moisture retention and cacao peptides so the skin benefits last longer than just the day’s wear.  The lineup offers 36 shades and has a vegan formula that works for all skin types.

Just four of the numerous models on the runway received a perfected red lip using NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl, long a favourite among red lip connoisseurs, with the edges perfected with a lip brush.
