New beauty launches worth your while, curated by Beauty Editor Megan Bedford.
It’s a good week to be a beauty lover. That’s how I’m feeling amidst a glut of great launches.
I have a selection of die-hard favourites I regularly reach for, some I’ve kept going back to for years. So it takes a real winner to budge them from my usual line-up. Recently though, it feels like my whole routine has had an overhaul, given how many new arrivals have made it past the trial stage and into my every-day faves.
Here are a few new beauty launches I think are worth replacing some of your usual go-to’s with:
E-Brush Toothbrush
Of course there is the important work of keeping our teeth clean, which is the priority for a good toothbrush. Electric toothbrushes consistently work very well for maintaining dental health and I certainly wouldn’t be without mine.
I’ve had all the big brands but I’ve largely stuck with a sonic brush in recent times. Though they mostly work well, what they all have in common is that they look ugly on the bathroom counter. Yes, it’s not a concern for everyone, but The Whitening Co understands. The Kiwi company has sleek looking brushes that also have all the features you’d expect (including whitening and polishing modes) in a minimal design.
The new Stone colourway (seen above) is our favourite though. It’s catnip for house proud aesthetes, and the sleek travel pouch makes it even more appealing.
Cuti Sleepy Cuticle Oil Pen

I’ve recently entered my era of ‘sleepmaxing.’ Like many other people, periods of anxiety and restlessness or simply waking early have become a new challenge, and so I’m working hard on creating a soothing environment and supporting my health with night time supplements.
A new addition to my routine is this nail oil to strengthen my nails and soften cuticles. I have used Cuti regularly and its genius cuticle oil pen sits beside my bed, but this version is blended with lavender, eucalyptus, spearmint and geranium to help you wind down. The gentle lavender scent smells so good to me, and my mind associates it with sleep.
L’Oréal Paris Elvive Collagen Lifter Big Hair Day Refreshing Volume Spray

Hair types are one of those ‘grass is greener’ things. I’ve always wished for thicker hair and more volume, but there are styling products that help. This super lightweight volume spray is a cross between a dry shampoo and a volumising spray. I style my hair with a curling iron – see below – then spritz a bit of this into my roots and through the finished style for bounce that helps combat lank oiliness in my fine hair.
Word on the street is this line has been hard to keep in-stock and I’m not surprised. I like the shampoo and conditioner too. Collagen is a buzz word in beauty right now, but who doesn’t want the promise of a little bit more?!
ghd Chronos Curve Grand Tong in Pink
As a long-time hair wand user, after trying this I did think, ‘where have you been all my life? I always felt like using a curling tong with a clip was tricky. It does take a bit of getting used to, but my curls are big and beautiful and last so well.
ghd’s tools are always well engineered and this pink version is really something special. It’s part of the brand’s annual limited-edition pink collection fundraising for breast cancer charities. $20 from every sale of the tools in the pink collection goes to the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, so it’s a great time to upgrade. The pink heat-resistant travel bag is beautiful quality and a sleek minimal style this year.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky Tubes Tubing Mascara
Speaking of sought-after, this new mascara has had plenty of beauty enthusiasts talking, so of course I needed to see what the fuss was about.
As a long-time tubing mascara fan I’m here for the fuss, and I think the hype is warranted. It gives a good mix of length and volume (not traditionally tubing mascara’s strong suit) and doesn’t smudge on my under eyes, which is a real challenge as I wear SPF and glowy, hydrating foundation every day.
Vichy Liftactiv Collagen Specialist 16 Eye Cream
A trip around a French pharmacy is always fun but now there’s one less reason to require an airline ticket. The country’s popular dermatological skincare brand Vichy is now available here.
Like similar brands such as Avène and La Roche-Posay that include calming spring water in their formulations, Vichy was created around the skin health benefits of water from the volcanic region of Vichy, France. The mineral-rich spring water is said to soothe and calm sensitive and reactive skin as well as nurture healthy complexions.
First launched in 1931 by dermatologist Dr. Prosper Haller, the line has kept pace with the times and is launching here with its Vichy Liftactiv Collagen 16 range. It targets 16 signs of skin aging for plumping, firming results. We’re fans of the serum and this eye cream, which Toni Street, the new ambassador for the brand, mentioned is her favourite item too.
