Lindsay Lohan’s return to the spotlight is capturing attention after a long period away from Hollywood.
But it’s her stunning hair update that is proving a talking point on her return.
Lohan this week stepped out to several events in New York with a stunning soft strawberry blonde hue that is significantly lighter than her usual bright copper hair colour. The shimmering shade is expected to lead hair trends in coming months, signalling a step away from previous dominant bold red colours like ‘Cowboy Copper’ that have been popular recently.
Her hairdresser has offered up a unique term for the colour and style update.
Celebrity stylist Dimitris Giannetos shared a post on the wavy style and gentle hue, referring the look as “churro waves.” Churros are warm, fried, crispy dough sticks covered in cinnamon and sugar that are usually golden or caramel in colour, similar to Lohan’s reddish-blonde hair hue.
“Churro waves’ is the combination of flat waves and mermaid waves,” Giannetos told Allure in terms of the wavy form he created. “It’s more stringy and styled in different directions,” “Sweet and messy like churros.”
Giannetos is also responsible for Amal Clooney’s gently highlighted caramel-brunette locks.
Lohan, 38, who welcomed son Luai, 14 months, in July 2023 with her husband Bader Shamma, has been carrying out media appearances and is also returning to one of her most well-known roles for a sequel.
More than 20 years after the film ‘Freaky Friday’ was released, Lohan and costar Jamie Lee Curtis are bringing back their body-switching mother-daughter characters, Anna and Tess Coleman.
To be called ‘Freakier Friday’, the film has been filming recently, with a release set for next year.
Curtis told Extra the flick would be freakier than ever.
“It’s a four-way switch … so it was intense. We have these two young beautiful actors with us, so I think you guys are going to love it. It’s joyful, you know, it’s a movie that people love and people are going to love this.”
